I've been SO excited to take AJ swimming and when I finally got my chance, I could hardly wait! AJ loves getting water dumped on him in the tub so I thought he'd love the pool.
The first time we planned on going he ended up throwing up every where on the way there. Here are a few pictures of us getting ready to go...
I thought for sure the second time would be a success! Getting ready to get in...
Well the water was a bit cold and it was a bit windy. Not a good combination. I dunked him a few times and he didn't do well with that.
AJ doesn't sit still for anything and for about 20-30 minutes after we got out, he laid on my like this (such a sad face)...traumatized. Not sure what traumatized him so much. The cold? Getting dunked? Probably a combination. It didn't go as I had planned.
After about 30 minutes, he got up the courage to sit NEXT to the pool and was one happy camper. Just wanted to sit and watch his cousin, Alexis, swim. Go figure!
This was on the way home. Traumatized!
But we didn't give up! The third time went much better. He was scared at first and wasn't really interested in being fully emerged in the water, or even half way. He was perfectly happy sitting at the most shallow end of the pool, watching everyone else swim for a good hour. Just sitting there observing.
We'll keep going, keep trying until he loves the pool. One day we'll get there!

It was probably just because he got cold. Soon he'll be jumping into the water when you don't want him to!
